Multitrade 3D Systems becomes an official reseller for MX3D in Sub-Saharan Africa

Cape Town, South Africa, and Amsterdam, The Netherlands – June 10, 2024. Multitrade 3D Systems and MX3D, a leading creator of Robotic WAAM technology, are pleased to announce their partnership, designating Multitrade 3D Systems as an official sales partner for MX3D solutions in the Sub-Saharan Africa market. This collaboration strengthens Multitrade’s metal additive manufacturing portfolio while providing MX3D with a robust local market presence.

MX3D has pioneered intelligent, robust, and user-friendly Robotic WAAM technology, revolutionising additive manufacturing of large metal objects. By introducing the first dedicated robotic WAAM software in 2019, MX3D has enhanced flexibility, speed, and cost-effectiveness in 3D metal printing. Since then, MX3D further transformed the industry with the introduction of its turnkey M1 Metal AM System.

The M1 Systems offer a turnkey solution for rapid WAAM adoption and the production of high-quality, medium-to-large-scale metal parts. Integrated with MetalXL, MX3D’s dedicated WAAM workflow, the systems boast advanced features for enhanced productivity, including automatic calibration, dynamic sensors, real-time operator feedback, and high-resolution data logging.

Multitrade 3D Systems will focus on establishing a supportive ecosystem for MX3D’s Robotic Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) technology in the Sub-Saharan Africa territory. This endeavor involves fostering partnerships and driving business opportunities alongside technology centers, machine tool companies, robotic integrators, academia, and industry stakeholders.

Dr. Devon Hagedorn-Hansen, Managing Director of Multitrade 3D Systems, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: “We are excited to partner with MX3D and offer a solution for large-scale metal additive manufacturing. The MX3D range allows us to offer solutions for companies in various sectors in Africa such as the mining, oil & gas, and manufacturing sectors that are struggling to source large metal parts locally. Moreover, MX3D’s technology provides a dedicated tool for WAAM integration from design to print, fulfilling a critical need in the local and Sub-Saharan market.”

The partnership aims to expand MX3D’s mission of proliferating Robotic Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) technology to maximise its benefits across businesses. Multitrade 3D Systems will offer customers proof of concept, facility installation, training, and support services.
